'On Site' Services

For only a few hours per week and with minimal set up costs, Connects regular on-site Occupational Physiotherapy services can benefit businesses by providing employees presenting with musculoskeletal problems with fast access to the following:
  • Assessment & Diagnosis
  • Treatment & Rehabilitation
  • Management Information
  • Advice & Education
  • Return to Work Programmes
  • Workplace Restrictions / modification

With minimal disruption to day to day business, on-site physiotherapy has the added benefit of providing regular communication with management on particular cases, including reducing and preventing prolonged or unnecessary absence and quickly identifying any relationship between an individuals condition and their working practices.

Early referral to the on-site Occupational Physiotherapist by managers (e.g. Occupational Health (if present), Human Resources, Health & Safety) can encourage early and appropriate intervention, (bypassing the NHS) whilst ensuring optimum recovery in the shortest time possible.

Once a detailed assessment has been completed, an accurate diagnosis and realistic goal setting can be established between the individual and Occupational Physiotherapist and, where necessary, communication with management in order to prevent absence from work, or allow for early and safe return to work.

In some instances, temporary avoidance of inappropriate activities or workplace modifications may be required.

Which employees are the most appropriate for referral to an ‘onsite’ physiotherapy service?

  • Employees absent from work with a musculoskeletal condition, who have either sustained the injury at work, have complained that work is gradually increasing their problems or the problem is independent of work but restricting them from returning to work.

  • Employees who are at work but who are likely to go on the sick if their condition deteriorates.

  • Employees who’s condition is affecting their ability to work and those whose symptoms are aggravated by being at work.

Connect now have an extensive range of customers (manufacturing, production, office based, private & public sector) and a vast range of experience in dealing with musculoskeletal problems arising in these work areas.
