Large businesses with a disparate workforce may want to consider referring to  Connect treament centre or one of Connects network of Physio Partners throughout the UK.

Smaller businesses (less than 350 employees) may not be of a size that they can justify having an onsite Occupational Physiotherapy Service. 

Connects ‘Off Site’ physiotherapy services are easy to administrate, efficiently managed and provide value for money to the client. With our highly trained and experienced physiotherapists and accessible, fully equipped premises, Connects service and clinics meet all the requirements for the Assessment, Diagnosis, Treatment and Rehabilitation of employees suffering from musculoskeletal problems.

Referral to a Connect Treatment Centre

With an expanding network of clinics, staff can be referred for assessment by an Occupational Physiotherapist at one of Connects centres. Where appropriate, advice and treatment can be given, with guidance offered to managers regarding the prognosis of an individual’s condition and any implications for safety at work.

Where Connect does not have a centre of its own, a nearby physiotherapy clinic, accredited by Connect as one of our ‘Physio Partners’ can be used. In this way, businesses can refer to Connect on a ad hoc, ‘as needs’ basis, with the reassurance of high standards of service being maintained across the UK from Connects centres or from one of our ‘Physio Partners’.

How Does This Service Work?

  • Staff with musculoskeletal injuries or disorders can be referred to Connect direct by your company without the need to see a GP.

  • The employee will be examined and assessed at a local Connect clinic within 48 hours of referral.

  • A report of your employees’ condition, including any recommendations for management, will be provided as part of the service. This would also include advice on ‘return to work’ for any employee suffering long term absence from work.

  • A limit can be placed on the number of appointments each employee is allowed to make with Connect.

When Does an ‘Off Site’ Service Work Better Than an ‘On Site Service?

The Connect ‘Off Site’ Occupational Physiotherapy Service is simple to use. There are no set up costs and you only use the service when you need it. This makes it ideal for companies who fit the following criteria:

  • Larger companies who have employees dispersed over a number of sites, where an ‘On Site’ Occupational Physiotherapy Service would be impractical
  • Small companies (less than 350 employees) or companies who do not expect the volume of referrals for physiotherapy to be high
  • Companies who do not have the facilities or room space to accommodate an ‘On Site’ Occupational Physiotherapy Service.
